The site was a barren parcel of land near the M1 containing builders
rubble from the construction of the motorway.

The area has been cleared in preparation for surfacing. October 2014.
The former dumping area for rubble from the nearby M1 has now been
transformed into playing pitches for Drogheda Town FC. The pitches
will soon be ready for playing on. A number of green friendly
additions are being planned for the area, including tree planting and
picnic benches for families. October 2014.
